Dictionaries work as a usual tool book to provide knowledgeable definitions and authoritative pronunciation for each word. However, it is noted that the《Shangwu New Dictionary》, a Yuet dictionary being rather popular in Macao, have variances in number of words collected, the showing ways and pronunciation for some words in comparision between its 1989 and 2008 versions. This might confuse its users when consulting. For clarification, 2500 most commonly-used words of the mentioned two versions are compared. 326 words of which are having the variances in pronunciations. Hence, we selected 10 of them at random for survey and analysis. The result shows that interviewees mainly agree with pronunciation of the 1989 version, and three actions are required to be taken upon our findings as follows: (1) Presentation of standard for showing pronunciations in Yuet dictionary. (2) Promotion of the phonetic alphabet for strengthening education of Yuet dialect. (3) Tool books have significant impacts on Yuet dialect.

字典詞典作為日常生活的工具書，起着知識傳播和糾正謬誤的權威作用，但本文通 過調查本澳普遍使用的粵語詞典 --《商用新詞典》的 1989 年版和 2008 年版後發現，兩 版本無論在收字數量、注音方法及部分詞字項的注音均有所差異，令使用者無所適從。 因此，本文將以最常用 2500 字作為比較，發現兩版本共有 326 個字項的讀音有存在差異， 本文並針對這些差異的字，隨機抽取了 10 個字作問卷分析，結果發現受訪者主要認同 89 年版《商用新詞典》的注音，相關的問題有以下四點：(一)、統一注音標準。（二）、 提倡學習粵語音標，優化粵語教育質素。（三）、工具書對方言音變影響深遠。
