ABSTRACT In the 1980s, Couple with the termination of the literary discourse and thinking style under the coercion, Chinese literature in the New Period was facing a completely new cultural environment. A great number of literature products of western modernism and post-modernism were accepted by Chinese writers and readers gradually, and they were influenced indelibly by William Faulkner as well. The main purpose of this article is to discourse William Faulkner's influences on contemporary chinese writers in Ethical-Narrative Study, and discuss the modern ethical communication between China and the West by taking Yu Hua, Su Tong and Mo Yan as research examples. There are four chapters in this article. The first chapter is to explain the Ethical-Narrative Study in the comparative literature field and it's feasibility in the study of William Faulkner's influence on contemporary chinese writers. The second chapter starts with the analysis of Yu Hua's earlier produces and later transformation which were affected by William Faulkner to discover the meaning of the narrations of violence and suffering. Further more, this chapter is trying to figure out the differentiations on salvations between Faulkner and Yu Hua's work, in the background of Christ Culture and Chinese Confucianism and Taoism. In chapter three, it was utilizing Michel Foucault's power theory to unscramble William Faulkner's and Mo Yan's historical narrations. The fourth chapter is to indicate the consciousness of original sin and the appetite in Faulkner and Su Tong's fictions based on the south on their own countries, and to approach the Chinese characteristics under the influences of western modernism, which is showed in Su Tong's contexts. In the conclusion, the author holds that the western modernism brings about a revolutionary transformation in chinese pioneer writers' narrative skills and structures. At the same time, the purpose, the ethic, the ultimate value pursuit, and the deep-meaning in those contexts have transformed as well. Moreover, the traditional value and the ethical reasoning have been disassembled in this process. KEY WORDS: William Faulkner, Yu Hua, Mo YAN, Su Tong, Ethical-Narrative Study

二十世纪八十年代,伴随着曾经政治高压下的文学话语和思维方式的解禁,中国的新时期文学面临着全新的文化语境。在大量西方现代主义和后现代主义作家作品被中国作家和读者接受的过程中,美国作家福克纳(William Faulkner)也为当代中国作家带来了难以磨灭的影响。本文就以余华、苏童、莫言为例,以伦理叙事批评为研究方法,探讨福克纳对当代中国作家的影响,在此基础上探寻中西文化间寻求和追问伦理价值沟通的叙事过程。 全文共分为四章。第一章主要阑析比较文学视野下的伦理叙事批评方法及其在福克纳对当代中国作家影响研究中的可行性;第二章从福克纳影响下的余华前期创作和后期转型的分析下手,探讨二者在暴力叙事、苦难书写背后的深层寓意,并分析在西方基督文化和中国儒、道文化浸润下,福克纳与余华作品对于苦难的不同救赎方式;第三章则通过解读福克纳影响下的莫言关于宏大历史的乡土述说,阐释二者寓于福柯“权力-知识”理论的伦理叙事;第四章论述福克纳和苏童关于各自国度的南方神话的构建,通过二者在伦理书写中所表现出的原罪与欲望意识,探讨苏童在以福克纳为代表的西方现代派作家影响下的现代叙事及其所体现的中国性特征;在最后的结语部分,笔者认为,在福克纳等西方现代主义作家影响下,中国先锋作家在叙事技巧和小说结构形式发生了革命性变化的同时,文本写作的目的性、伦理性、终极价值追求、文本的深度意义模式也随之进行了转化,实现了对传统价值和伦理思维的拆解。 关键词:威廉·福克纳 余华 莫言 苏童 伦理叙事研究
