Wang Anyi and Eileen Chang, two famous shanghai female novelists, are always compared by scholars in the relative field: some comparative studies are only based on the connection of modern city and female life, and some are only on the difference of childhood environments and literary views between the two novelists. Therefore there is still a lack of the detailed and deeper analysis . This paper applys a case study and is concentrated on the differences of three aspects: literary accomplishments, mental propensity and art views. So there is a discuss from that the contemporary novelists have two absences compared with the neoterics. 王安忆和张爱玲是两位著名的上海女性小说家。王安忆曾撰文将自己和张爱玲划清界限，而一直以来学界都不乏对二者的相似与差异的比较：有从现代都市与女性生存的两种观照的角度出发的比较，也有对两人的成长环境和文学观的比较，但欠缺对二人的差异进行的历史与个人角度的深度剖析、欠缺对这种差异的本质的理性认识、欠缺一种系统的、多向度的、更为清醒与清晰的认知。 本文运用个案分析研究方法，以三组小说文本:《长恨歌》与《金锁记》、《富萍》与《桂花蒸 阿小悲秋》、《小城之恋》与《倾城之恋》为例，分别从文学修养、心理意向、艺术理念的三方面差异对王安忆和张爱玲的小说艺术进行了比较研究。从而探讨了以王安忆为代表的当代作家和以张爱玲为代表的现代作家的艺术创作差距和在文化涵养及灵魂写作上的两种缺失。 关键词：海派 王安忆 张爱玲 小说艺术 比较
