China is one of the most important trade partners of EU, and textile industry is China's traditional stanchion, accordingly EU standards and technical regulations on textile have a great significance on the bilateral trade between EU and China as well as on developing Chinese national trade policy. This thesis provides and overview of European standards and technical regulations on textile industry and their effect on China. The thesis analyzed EU-China bilateral legal framework and European standards and technical regulations on textile industry. Since advanced standards and regulations are the main form of technical regulations and standards are inevitably become the crucial issue concerning international trade. The thesis also concludes how EU technical regulations and standards affect China and its textile industry. It attempts to suggest apply ascendant EU Standards and technical regulations to Chinese textile industry for improving China's own standard and then strengthen China's market competitiveness in textile industry.
