Includes an answer addressed to Thomas Harding (1516-1572) by the Bishop of Sainsbury, England. Thomas Harding was a sixteenth-century English religious dissident who, while waiting to be burnt at the stake as a Lollard in 1532, was struck on the head by a spectator with one of the pieces of firewood, which killed him instantly.
Believed to have been bound for Elizabeth I. Likely acquired for the Royal Library before 1860.
Originally written in Latin because it wasn't initially aimed just at England. Translated into English by the mother of Francis Bacon, whose edition appeared in 1564.
