'Meeting At The Summit' is all about 4 countries getting together to discuss . No real decision is made, but when Ike comes home, everyone from Dick Nixon to the mother in laws are there to greet Ike, as if he won the war.
The Viet Nam and the Morocco riot footage was good, because it gave a dramitc prelude to what would come..
Austria gets it's Sovreignity in the next clip, myuch to their approval.
Yes another nuclear test is done, this one includes the dummies that just get blown away. You've seen this footage before, it's always fascinating to see them again though. The houses are of course, wiped out (but wouldn't have been if you JUST CLEANED UP. (oops, another movie)
The wonders of newspapers in the classroom are shown nextm with kids with sharp scissors cutting (trying) out articles and even their own profiles. Older kids are shown how to make their own newspaper (check out that globe hovering in the library, I can imagine kids pushing it around like a pendulum when the teachers weren't looking)
Next clip we see the discontinuation of the El line in New York. Very nice footage here, it shows the very antiquated line and it's track, which really ran too close to apartments..
Tennis and golf championships are decided next. The golf championship footage is interesting as it shows Ben Hogan being 'upset' by a unknown golfer.
Finally, Old Ironsides is covered. Although not in use anymore, soldiers still take care of it, and crowds still flock to it.
