Economic globalization is an unstoppable trend. International trade becomes a significant method for raising national strength. For a country, prosperous international trade is a yardstick which scales national development level. Therefore, keeping sustainable development of the international trade is a big mission to every government. The United States and China have mutual common interest. Each party regards the other as an important partner. Hence, both parties have intention to make bilateral trade more prosperous. Under normal circumstances, not only would Chinese exporters gain from accessing the large United States' market, but also number of American products benefit from entering the Chinese market. However, it is unavoidable that conflicts exist in international trade. This is because both countries must consider their own national interests. These conflicts are also present in bilateral trade between China and the United States. Among these trade conflicts, dumping conflicts deserves special attention. American producers and Chinese producers both face dumping challenge in their national market. Dumping challenges impede trade relations and affect bilateral trade. This situation is not ideal for a healthy growth of bilateral trade between these two big markets. Therefore, in order to promote bilateral trade between China and the United States, we have to find ways to prevent and effectively resolve dumping conflicts. This thesis focuses on the dumping conflicts in bilateral trade between China and the United States. We need to find a better way to resolve dumping conflicts, beyond research on anti-dumping procedures and regulations set forth by the World Trade Organization and domestic anti-dumping laws from the United States and China. In analyzing domestic anti-dumping procedures of the United States and China, we can find their characteristics of anti-dumping investigation. In addition to analyzing anti-dumping lawsuits between these two countries, we must also find the cause of dumping conflicts in order to discover effective legal resolutions to reduce dumping conflicts.
