The origin of Ci Poetry is the primary and forefront issue in the current research field. However, the academic circle is get to reach a consensus on this issue. Based on the "Two Symbols and One Protracted Course" principle of Professor Sze Yee Tui, this dissertation discusses Da Qu as one of the origins of Ci Poetry during the Tang and Song Dynasties. Da Qu is the trinity of Ci Poetry, music and dancing. It is composed of complex musical structure, accompanied with a variety of instruments and dance, performance. Da Qu is originated in the Early China, thrived in the Wei and Jin Dynasties and matured in the Tang and Song Dynasties. A systematic research on the related literature, both ancient and modern, is conducted. On top of this, an analysis on the existing Da Qu lyrics is carried out. This thesis is composed ofthree chapters. The first chapter discusses the origin and evolution of Da Qu, with special focus on the Da Qu text and structure in the Han Dynasty. The second chapter gives examples ofsome famous Da Qu during the Tang and Song Dynasties and discusses its development and prosperity. The third chapter explains the relationship between the Da Qu and Ci Poetry in the Tang and Song Dynasties. With the support of examples and evidences, this thesis validates the argument that the origin and development of Ci-Poetry is in line with the "Two Symbols and One Protracted Course" principle.

詞源問題是詞學研究八大議題當中的首要議題。目前學界雖多所討論,但 並未對這一問題形成一致的意見。本文依照施議對教授所提出「兩個標誌,一 個長過程」為基本原則,從具體文本著手,論定詞源問題。著重分析、研究促 進唐宋歌詞發生、發展的一個重要源頭:大曲。 大曲是詩、樂、舞三位一體的大型樂歌品種。具有較為龐大的曲式結構, 多段排遍歌辭,以及多樣的樂器伴奏及樂舞表演。大曲始於葛天氏,興於魏、 晉,臻熟於唐、宋。唐、宋大曲是探索詞體發生、發展的一個重要資料來源。 本文將歷代相關文獻典籍以及近現代學人論著當中所涉及唐宋大曲的資 料,作較為仔細的搜羅與整理,并對現存大曲歌辭的文本進行分析與探究。 本文分為三章。第一章,論述大曲產生及其歷史沿革。著重分析漢代大曲 及相和大曲的曲辭及規制。第二章,唐宋大曲及名篇舉例。論述唐宋大曲的興 盛與發展以及經典名篇例舉。第三章,闡釋唐宋大曲與唐宋歌詞二者之間的聯 繫。 通過具體事例,作相關論考,證實詞體的發生與發展,乃是兩個標誌一個 長過程這一論斷。
