This dissertation mainly discusses attributive clauses in Chinese. An attributive clause refers to a clause which, as an attribute, modifies a noun phrase. Based on the syntactic and semantic properties, attributive clauses can be classified into relative clauses and appositive clauses. Firstly, focusing on relative clauses, the syntactic and semantic properties of post-nominal relative clauses and headless relative clauses are investigated and some explanations on these properties are provided as well. It is also found that the focus operation on a relative clause will directly influence the semantic reading of the clause, i.e. restrictive or non-restrictive reading. Secondly, appositive clauses in Chinese are classified into appositive clauses with the complementizer "De", appositive clauses with speech-type complementizers and appositive clauses with be-type complementizers according to the complementizers they used and each type is discussed in detail. In addition, the study shows that the marking means of relative clauses in Chinese are quite rich. In view of syntax, the so-called attributive clause markers are complementizers marking the subordination of the clauses in nature. Certain uniqueness exists in the syntactic environment of the attributive clauses, which results from the integration of the clauses to a large extent.

本文主要考察漢語定語從句。所謂定語從句,即作定語修飾一個名詞短語 的小句。根據句法語義上的特點,定語從句大致可分為關係從句和同位語從句。 首先,圍繞關係從句,論文重點探討了漢語後置關係從句和無核關係從句 的句法、語義特點,并作出了相應解釋。考察還發現,關係從句的焦點化操作 直接影響關係從句限制性和非限制性的語義解讀。 其次,根據標句詞類型的不同,本文將同位語從句分為“的類標句詞 標示的同位語從句”、“言說類標句詞標示的同位語從句”和“判斷類標句詞 標示的同位語從句”,并對其分別進行了討論。 此外,研究表明,漢語定語從句的標記手段頗為豐富,從句法學角度來看, 所謂的定語從句標記本質上是標示“從屬性”的標句詞。漢語定語從句的句法 環境存在一定的特殊性,這在很大程度上是由小句間發生整合所造成的。
