The topic of this paper is “The Study of Lyric of Cantonese Popular Song”. The Modern Cantonese Song has been developing a lot since it started to rise and become popular in the mid 70's this century, as well as the LYRIC. Being one of the most important living elements and part of our communication path among recent decades, we have learnt that the LYRIC itself always reflects a reality the feature of social reality. By this chance, I am going to give more to the public what exactly the writer means inside the LYRIC. For it should be considered as playing a leading role in the Modern Chinese Literature, the LYRIC of Cantonese Popular Song would be described into chapters with the contents below: - Nature of Cantonese Popular Song - Develop of the LYRIC of Cantonese Popular Song within the Past 30 Years - Study of Four Most Typical Lyricists of Cantonese Popular Song

粤語流行曲自 70 年代中期開始勃興，至今已展接近 30年。在這30年間，粤語流行曲詞無論在思想内容，和寫作技巧上都不斷的改进，并緊貼社會的發展。因此，粤語流行曲詞可以說是反映社會面貌的一些重要的资料。希望藉此研究，能令大眾對流行曲詞有進一步的了解。 由於大部份人對流行曲的認識都不夠全面，所以第一章主要探到流行曲的本質，第二章便介紹流行曲詞這30年來的發展，第三章則重點研究四位有代表性的粤語流行曲詞填詞人，務求令流行曲詞的價值得到認同。
