- Abstract
- Neonatal respiratory distress syndrome (NRDS) is a respiratory disease commonly observed in newborns,particularly in premature infants. It can cause breathing difficulties and, in severe cases, can be life-threatening. NRDS also increases the risk of complications in premature infants, which can lead to long-term neurodevelopmental and cognitive impairments, affecting children’s intelligence and learning ability. As a result, early diagnosis and treatment of NRDS are crucial to improving the survival rate of affected infants, reducing the incidence of complications, and enhancing children’s health while alleviating medical burden. This article aims to provide clinicians with a comprehensive reference for the prevention and treatment of NRDS, covering the concepts, diagnosis, and prevention of NRDS, indications for pulmonary surfactant replacement therapy, administration methods, and selection and application of respiratory support technology.
